Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
  • 4 years of experience performing copy and developmental edits for product documentation, online publishing, or technical blogging.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with HTML or markdown.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to write/edit samples and be adaptable to Google style.
  • Excellent communications and teamwork skills.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and improve content and help define the information architecture for Google Cloud Serverless, GKE and other new products in development. Working closely with other Technical Writers, Developer Relations Engineers, and Program/Product Managers, you will advocate for and prioritize users needs, and help define, refine, and execute on plans for the content across products and or strategic initiatives. You will help choose how best to meet the customer needs.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Work with a team of technical writers to edit, publish, and maintain high-quality documentation and online content, including overview/concept documentation, and how-to guides.
    • Consult with writers on developmental editing, content strategy, information architecture.
    • Consult on, and perform large documentation maintenance projects. Consult on terminology and branding decisions.
    • Train new writers on Google style guides and processes.Train writers and partner teams on documentation processes and style guides.
