Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience in managing data lakes, warehousing, data migrations and using Extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools to integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Experience in working with Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) database management systems.
  • Experience in querying and managing datasets using SQL and programming using Java.

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience with data migration strategies and moving large-scale production systems either in on-premise/data center environments or migration to cloud scenarios.
  • Experience working with services (e.g., Spark, DataFlow/Beam).
  • Experience working with Java or C++.
  • Knowledge of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing, networking.

Responsibilities

  • Build large-scale systems and infrastructure to enable migration to BigQuery and different Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
  • Take initiative and be responsible for technical solutions from concept to landing.
  • Work with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to decide on the goal and scope of the BigQuery and migration assistant product.
  • Lead designs for major software components, systems, and features.
