Software Engineering Manager, Cloud Databases

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience leading a team to build and scale distributed systems, in a cloud environment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, performance optimization, and GenAI concepts.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to a team of talented database engineers, fostering innovation and driving successful project execution.
  • Hire, mentor, develop, and retain top engineering talent, building a high-performing, collaborative team.
  • Lead the development and launch of GenAI-focused database products, ensuring high quality, scalability, and reliability to meet the needs of our global user base.
  • Work closely with product management, other engineering teams, and stakeholders to align on priorities, gather requirements, and achieve business goals.
  • Maintain a strong focus on reliability, security, and operational efficiency for large-scale distributed systems, upholding Google's commitment to excellence.
