Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

In this role, you will join a backend engineering team supporting UI product development for Kubernetes (GKE) products. You will work with global partners to ship UI products. Our team's mission is to grow the GKE businesses by enabling all product teams to comfortably develop consistent, performant and high-quality Cloud Console interfaces for UI products.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend services foundational to Cloud Console UI using Java, Kotlin, GraphQL and other technologies.
  • Work with other engineers, assess recurring organization-wide engineering issues and provide solutions to solve them.
  • Speed up development process by introducing common libraries and tooling aimed at improving Developer Experience (DX).
  • Provide input on system designs, identify common patterns and potential problems ahead of time. Advise other engineers on best practices.
