Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin or C++).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience building or optimizing android audio subsystems.
  • Experience building applications or libraries that operate across processes.
  • Experience with multithreading, testing, profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing code and applications.
  • Experience with Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience with Dependency Injection (DI) frameworks, e.g., Dagger2/Hilt.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cross-process audio/visual systems on Android and prototype features and tests using Kotlin, Java, or C++.
  • Propose designs for new APIs, and give feedback on design documents and code.
  • Learn about internal tools, APIs, and best practices, and apply them to your day to day work; demonstrate and encourage the adoption of standard procedures, technology, tools, and libraries and diagnose issues related to your core libraries and components.
  • Benchmark and optimize core libraries and components, dogfood unreleased devices and provide feedback and file bug reports on issues, plan and organize your work based on internal requirements and planning.
  • Maintain a high quality, performance, and reliability bar for the libraries and components our team develops and prototype ideas, build demos, and share novel concepts with the team.
