Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience in developing web applications using a modern web framework (i.e. Angular, React).
  • Experience developing large scaled software systems such as web applications with active users.
  • Experience working with and learning from a team of engineers.

    In this role, you will be responsible for the overall health and technical direction of the Google Classroom Web app. From simplifying code patterns, to improving user navigability, you will be committed to delivering a high quality web experience for Classroom users and developers alike.

    You will develop cross-cutting features like user education workflows and intuitive and accessible navigation and focus on making the app fast and easy to work with building and maintaining reusable building blocks, establishing reusable design and data access patterns, and being stewards of overall product excellence and application health.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in user research, design, and product to understand educators needs, and to translate them into the right technical decisions and systems.
    • Develop product or system code.
    • Manage project priorities with guidance, meeting deadlines and deliverables.
