  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java).
  • Experience with Android or embedded software.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in software development for hardware validation and quality assurance.
  • Experience with full-stack software development.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Nest team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users' homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Android TV team and SoC vendors to support regular releases.
  • Collaborate with SoC vendors and cross-functional teams on system integration tasks to achieve efficient, cost-effective product solutions.
  • Develop, enhance, debug, and maintain bootloaders, operating systems, and device drivers.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams on board bring-up, power management, and hardware debug.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturing to support diagnostics and operations.
