We are building the camera system software layers running below android camera public APIs for Pixel phones, which offer full camera functionality for Google Camera App (GCA) and all 3rd party camera apps. Camera system software builds up feature sets and infrastructures that lay out the foundation of delivering industry leading mobile camera experience.

Our Scopes: Camera System Software that powers Pixel, Camera features Google ISP Software (ISP user space and kernel drivers), Google Camera HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer), Advanced Multi-Camera Software Frameworks, Camera sensor software components that support both camera and non-camera use cases. Pixel Camera Platform Health: Stability, Power, Performance, Memory

Responsibilities

  • Develop Pixel camera system software, including the camera software stack supporting the Android camera Hardware Abstraction Layer, camera hardware drivers, and conduct testing and validation on emulations and silicon.
  • Possess proficiency in Image/video quality tuning and evaluation.
  • Apply optimization techniques to Pixel camera system software performance, power, and memory
  • Apply machine learning and computer vision algorithm development and integration techniques.
  • Develop and implement ambient and always-on computing solutions.
