Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C, C++, and Python with data structures/algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience in software development for embedded systems.
  • 2 years of experience testing and launching software products on embedded devices.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with embedded operating systems (e.g. LK, FreeRTOS, etc.).
  • Experience in distributed systems, message passing primitives, real-time behavior.
  • Experience in power aware engineering practices.
  • Experience in Linux kernel driver development.
  • Experience in C/C++ development for firmware applications.
  • Excellent debugging skills with GNU Debugger (gdb), and JTAG debug solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers in complex System on a Chip(SoC) projects. Engage in cross-functional with Google teams to build exceptional Application programming interfaces(API).
  • Review hardware designs, prototype Software (SW)-based Hardware (HW)-mocks, and engage in HW/SW co-design efforts to engineer effective platform power management. Work with early hardware prototypes, FPGAs, SW-simulation of SoC and subsystem designs to verify and enable functionality.
  • Write and extend Linux and embedded OS drivers to interface with power management and metric modules. And develop SW-based HW-simulations to allow early explorations of SW/HW interfaces and support early architecture decisions.
  • Write production level code, and support it through to product launch. Develop and maintain continuous integration tests, participate in scrum meetings, and perform code reviews.
