Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience with networking solutions, data plane and control plane elements.
  • Experience with Linux networking stack.
  • Experience with large/distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with one or more virtualization technologies, technologies such as load balancing or network security.

Google Kubernetes Engine team has grown in the last 2.5 years in Warsaw from 0 to 25 and will soon reach 30 Software Engineers. We have gained expertise and hold ownership in critical business areas such as GKE 1N - Advanced Load Balancing, GKE Networking Infra for AI/ML, GKE L4 Services - L4 Managed LB, DNS, Multi-Cluster Service, GKE IPv6, and GKE and dataplane scalability.

As a Software Developer, you will contribute to our DPv2 team as we foresee the growth of investment in the area to enable new features, scale and migration of the old solutions. It's important that you've worked on distributed systems, how to write functional and efficient code, handle errors, write good tests, and manage concurrency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new networking features in the Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) area.
  • Design and develop network virtualization solutions for containers.
  • Help external GKE customers who hit issues in production clusters.
  • Engage with the open source community to help shape the direction of networking in Kubernetes.
