  • About the job

Brand Studio is focused on building the Google brand. By combining user insights, strategic thinking, beautiful design and storytelling, our team creates a wide range of work that drives Google's reputation for being helpful to people, businesses, and communities. Our work also aims to build advocacy and trust in the brand. To achieve that, we're a multidisciplinary team of marketers, strategists, insights specialists, creatives, producers, and engineers who work together to create exceptional marketing.

As the Social Intelligence Manager, Brand Social Science you will be responsible for leading Google's global social Rapid Response and Reputational Risk sensing program.

You will own the design and implementation of a 24/7 global monitoring and response system. This includes developing frameworks for quantifying and assessing risk. This model will be supported by agency partners and will necessitate on-call hours at times. When issues or opportunities are identified, you will coordinate across marketing, communications, legal and other teams to surface and respond. Excellent communication skills to simplify complex information for executive audiences is essential.

Working cross-functionally and with executive stakeholders, you will assess trends, determine audience perceptions, and identify real-time issues using social listening and social media analytics in an effort to inform marketing and business decisions. It is important that you have experience analyzing social data, are able to work with large social data sets, and that you can translate this data into clear recommendations on when/how to respond. This requires strong analytical skills and ability to separate signal from noise.

Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.
