Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. As a Visual Designer, you'll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences-from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you'll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

As the Visual Design Lead on the Google Labs Characters team, you will be a driving force in defining the visual design of a novel, zero-to-one interactive experience. Your work will significantly influence how people interact with and learn from Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered characters, playing a key role in making expert knowledge more accessible and engaging for everyone. This will require collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure Google ships high-quality, impactful experiences.

Our team exists to help discover and create new ways to advance our core products through exploration and the application of new technologies. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Lead the complete visual design process for innovative interactive products, from initial concept to final handoff, ensuring a cohesive and engaging user experience.
  
• Develop and implement novel User Experience (UX) patterns specifically tailored for AI-powered products and interactive characters, pushing the boundaries of human-computer interaction.
  
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Researchers, and Engineers to advocateuser-centered design, actively participating in product strategy discussions and advocate for user needs.
  
• Create and maintain a robust and scalable design system that promotes streamlined development, ensure brand consistency, and enable efficient design iteration.
  
• Integrate core design principles with cutting-edge technologies like AI to drive product innovation, enhance functionality, and deliver exceptional user experiences.
