  • About the job

We're the Ads Privacy & Safety (APaS) UX team, part of the Google-wide priority to improve user trust. We protect billions of users from being exposed to inappropriate or deceptive ads, including those that may contain scams, misinformation, hate speech or manipulated media. We increase consumer trust by finding user-first solutions to today's regulatory environment and giving consumers control over the ads they see.

As a Senior Staff Service and Interaction Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry leading user experiences from concept to execution. Given the particularly horizontal nature of this team and role, you will forge partnerships to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

In this role, you will turn complex design challenges into seamless experiences for users, a systems thinking mindset and enthusiasm for deeply technical products. Given an influx of new regulations, confusing Google Ad policies and changing user needs, you will take on a variety of design challenges and deliver solutions that build trust across the Ads ecosystem (consumers, advertisers and publishers), keep users safe online and improve our internal processes and tools. You will partner with User Experience (UX) and product teams across Ads and Google to define the problem space and provide thought leadership resulting in actionable impact and great experiences for our users.

User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users' needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products' unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google's philosophy: "Focus on the user and all else will follow."
