Senior Software Engineer, Android, Google Store

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

The team's mission is to build a first-party Android app for the Google Store, redefine the Pixel ownership experience by empowering users to purchase and upgrade devices, and showcase Pixel features and support for their Pixel devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and improvement of the Google Store Android app.
• Develop reliable code in Kotlin and Java, ensuring it's easy to maintain and test.
• Partner with backend teams to create the necessary APIs for a positive mobile experience.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule.
• Apply Google's Android engineering practices and address technical debt to enhance the app's scalability and maintainability.
