Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in Java or Kotlin.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 2 years of experience developing for the Android Platform or Android Applications.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with 3D development or working with 3D teams.
  • Experience with AOSP and Android CoreOS Frameworks.

As a member of the Systems Experiences team, you will help make user visible system experiences come to life on next gen AR hardware. You will bring interest in designing, building, and optimizing software for innovative immersive XR devices.

    In this role, you will make highly visible, user facing changes, and expand your professional network in Android. You will work on cutting edge technology and hardware, and pave the way for the future of computing for Google's flagship devices.

    Responsibilities

    • Architect, guide, and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write code to solve ambiguous problems.
    • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
    • Communicate, design, and implement decisions effectively through architecture/design documents and code.
    • Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional peers to help plan and scope project work and successfully deliver the team's goals.
    • Mentor and train other team members on architecture and design techniques, coding standards, debugging complex system interactions, and engineering best practices and processes.
