Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in designing hardware.
  • Experience in analog, digital, or mixed-signal design.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with printed circuit board design tools (e.g., Altium or Allegro).
  • Experience in analog/mixed-signal/RF system design.
  • Experience with RF test (e.g., Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, etc), including calibration.
  • Experience leading development projects, including system deployments.
  • Experience with microwave design tools, including electromagnetic simulation.

About the job

In this role, you will be a member of the quantum electronics team, contributing to our implementation of electronics for control and readout of our current and future quantum computers. You will work with a team of FPGA designers and RF/Analog or Mixed-Signal (AMS) hardware engineers, collaborating with adjacent teams in the electronic, software, and quantum engineering areas to implement systems for use in the readout and control of our scaled quantum processors and deploy these systems to our quantum computers. You will develop an understanding of the electronic control and measurement needs of quantum computers. You will leverage domain-specific expertise to own and implement RF or mixed-signal systems of moderate-complexity and to contribute to implementation of RF or mixed-signal systems of high-complexity. You will participate in characterization of implemented systems as well as the deployment of these systems into our quantum computers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of control and measurement systems for next generation quantum computers, from architecture through implementation and deployment.
  • Drive board-level projects of to completion, collaborating with a team of engineers.
  • Participate in project roadmapping.
  • Support deployment and operations of electronics to Google's fleet of quantum computers.
