Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Our team is responsible for building networking solutions and networking abstractions for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Google Data Centers (GDC) and Anthos platforms and drive solutions integration and validation efforts collaborating with Partners and Customers.

In this role, you will work on technology that is at the core of an impactful, quickly growing business (GKE), and are passionate about building and supporting the most reliable, performant, and cost efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute in all activities of software development - ideation, Minimum Viable Product (MVP) definition, design, delivery - by building, designing, evolving and scaling Kubernetes Networking solutions to meet current and future needs of GKE Platform, adapting to changing requirements and new areas of growth (i.e., AI/ML).
  • Understand, communicate, and support organization-level business objectives and priorities. Accountable for key, business-critical domain or technical area that contributes to the broader organization's priorities, advancing its capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product management, cross-functional stakeholders, and executive leadership to define the team's roadmap, align it with organization initiatives, drive strategy, and new initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach, and empower a team of highly talented software engineers, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Exhibit leadership across multiple groups, influencing stakeholders with competing priorities to align on outcomes in the best interest of Google.
