Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a hardware engineering technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with analog circuits and mobile interfaces.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with optical engineering and operations.
  • Experience with optoelectronics and simulation/CAD design

Our team works on display module electrical engineering to deliver the displays for Google consumer electronics, like Pixel phones, watches, and tablets. This includes LCDs and OLED displays either on glass or plastic substrates. We work closely with display vendors, internal and external cross-functional teams for the product development, software teams, display mechanical/optical teams, as well as the system Electrical Engineering teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams to deliver small and medium size display modules for first-party systems to the market.
  • Develop and optimize innovative concept and circuit design for the display panels and modules and their driving electronics.
  • Support the system hardware validation and software development to ensure the best display performance in the system.
  • Define the electrical specifications for the display modules and the future product roadmap.
  • Characterize the display electrical performance and debug issues in the display hardware.
