Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience analyzing data, database querying (e.g., SQL), and creating dashboards/reports.
  • 5 years of experience designing data pipelines (ETL) and dimensional data modeling for synch and asynch system integration and implementation.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience partnering with stakeholders (e.g., users, partners, customers).
  • 5 years of experience developing project plans and delivering projects on time within budget and scope.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with sales pipeline or sales effectiveness.
  • Experience with Google's advertising and measurement products.

About the job

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build and extend data products used by thousands of Ads sellers to plan and execute sales pitches. You will also ensure that the design remains resilient to point failures and is easily extensible by peer data engineers and business analysts who have less system-specific knowledge. You'll plan for tests, continuous improvement, and for ever-deepening integration with Connect Sales, Google's Ads CRM.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Support quarterly planning workflow used by thousands of sellers via an ETL process that generates hundreds of thousands of sales suggestions based on thousands of signals.
  • Manage JavaScript-based configuration to integrate sales suggestions into Connect Sales, Google's Ads CRM.
  • Drive and measure ad sales activity by implementing businesslogicto suggest pitches and detect if pitches have been implemented.
  • Synthesize advertiser and seller data and conduct analyses to deliver insights and actionable recommendations for product and sales leadership.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
