Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in collecting, managing, and synthesizing data sets and information, statistical modeling, data mining, and data analysis.
  • 5 years of experience in managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in management.
  • Experience in problem solving and project management with data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation.
  • Experience with classification systems or ranking systems.
  • Knowledge of product and policy with the ability to communicate across multiple level.
  • Excellent investigative skills.

Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

In this role, you are responsible for formulating strategies and implementing solutions to drive anti-spam analytics and detection at scale within YouTube. You will work cross-functionally and engage with stakeholders from policy, legal, engineering, data science, ranking and product teams across a variety of community abuse issues. You will ensure users have a safe and a quality community experience on the YouTube Platform. Responsibilities

  • Guide the team to perform investigations and apply advanced statistical methods to large data sets spanning billions of events and thousands of features from diverse data sources across the organization.
  • Guide team to create and deploy automated solutions for bulk classification of abusive content and behavior using a variety of tools, features and functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners in engineering, product, policy and legal to drive anti-abuse solutions involving and impacting various cross-functional areas.
  • Formulate practical and long term strategy and goal, and lead analyst teams to cover a wide variety of spam and abuse vectors across YouTube community engagements.
  • Identify spam trends and techniques to develop and deploy anti-abuse counter measures on a tight schedule.
