Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management, or managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience leading and completing process design or process improvement projects.
  • Experience conducting statistical analyses of process performance in a business environment and logical data modeling.
  • Experience with design thinking, change management and project management methodologies,
  • Black Belt level knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Subject matter expertise in staffing/HR or service industry processes, especially with leading and successfully landing change management initiatives.

    The People Operations (POps) Process Excellence Team is a group of trusted experts, sought out for their ability to disentangle complexity, bring people together, and deliver meaningful outcomes. The team helps People Operations services get better faster by focusing improvement efforts on what will drive the greatest impact. They bring proven process design methods to People Operations through direct support of project teams, coaching project leaders, and spreading best practices via training.

You'll play an essential role advancing a more diverse, accessible, equitable, and inclusive Google through our hiring, promotion, retention, and inclusion practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead or support cross-functional, global projects, focused primarily on business process improvement, process design, process management, and change management necessary to drive adoption of new practices.
    • Engage with clients in People Operations and partner with engineering teams to understand and assess their challenges and advise on improvement opportunities.
    • Collect and document business requirements and partner with engineering teams to translate them into system requirements. Write project charters, problem statements, and business cases. Support change management to ensure new processes/technology lands well with all teams.
    • Establish meaningful process measures, determine root causes, and identify meaningful improvements.
    • Create and deliver effective presentations and written communications to keep stakeholders informed and educated on complex business change initiatives. Ensure that the perspective of the customer is considered throughout all phases of a project.
