Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: compute and data center infrastructure, fleet automation, ERP, Business Planning, or Logistics Systems for physical infrastructure backed services.
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.

  • 4 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 3 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of different workload requirements and their demands on the underlying infrastructure.

Google Compute is a portfolio of infrastructure products and services, generating business growth annually. The Virtual Machine (VM) Families and Platform Product team focuses on the logistics systems and software critical to the scalable operation and distribution of the VM Families Product portfolio.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new capabilities in demand curation, processing, fulfillment and DC automation systems for all machine families, and drive priorities and strategic direction for efficiency initiatives across machine families.
  • Advise on product roll out strategies based on data, customer and competitive insights, and engage in collaborative planning with key first-party and third-party PaaS and SaaS service providers.
  • Influence stockout and demand shaping strategies, and define new responses and tooling.
  • Establish, track, and report capacity operations performance on VM family fulfillment and collaborate with peer product managers in compute engine, geo expansion and across all layers of the cloud stack.
  • Drive business planning/demand forecasting systems development for new machine families .
