Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in the policymaker and regulatory environment in the United States, or relevant international experience, driving policy-focused media campaigns within organizations.
- Experience with communications related to company, operational, or reputational issues.
- Experience with success planning and executing integrated and scalable media campaigns.
- An established network of relevant media contacts, influencers and other stakeholders and knowledge of the digital influencer landscape.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to translate the complex into simple, clear and intuitive communications.
- Solid cross-functional partnership skills and ability to independently manage projects with multiple stakeholders.

As a member of the Global Communications and Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.
As a member of the YouTube Reputation and Responsibility team, you will support YouTube's Trust and Safety efforts, leading a number of key policy verticals that underpin the platform's Community Guidelines. As the Policy Communications Manager, you will also drive proactive narratives and storytelling around the economic, cultural and societal impacts of YouTube's creator economy, and the legitimacy of these jobs and contributions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$156,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage proactive and reactive communications for a wide range of policy verticals that underpin YouTube's Community Guidelines that form what's allowed on the platform.
- Support YouTube's public reporting of transparency and enforcement measures, including the quarterlyCommunity Guidelines Transparency Report.
- Work with cross-functional teams on a wide range of projects to showcase YouTube's positive contributions to the economy, communities and culture, including delivering an annual Impact Report that includes key metrics about YouTube's positive contributions, including jobs and GDP.
- Build relationships with key press and third party stakeholders to advance YouTube's reputational efforts andsupport legislative priorities of the public policy team.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in public policy, legal, and marketing to manage press coverage, events, and reporter briefings. Note: this role includes weekend and holiday cover.
