Minimum qualifications:
- Trade school qualification or certification in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 9 years of experience in network engineering, industrial operations, asset configuration management or cybersecurity engineering.
- Experience in power, water or gas utilities, nuclear engineering, Oil and Gas industries, water purification, telecommunications, military service or other critical infrastructure management.
- Experience working in cybersecurity vulnerability management, network or system administration, industrial control room operations or industrial equipment maintenance.
- Industrial control system experience with SCADA packages such as Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk, Schneider Electric Power SCADA Operations, Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Experience in data center operations (Plant Engineering or Facility Technician).
- Knowledge of process controls and related equipment (e.g., PLCs, Controllers, RIO, Protection Relays, Power Meters, etc.).
- Understanding of the security threat landscape in Industrial control system (ICS) environments.
- Ability to understand and work on various new and legacy network topologies, industry standard types of communication protocols, database processes, and field networks.

We bring scientific and mathematical expertise, industry experience, and operational excellence together to help scale critical data center facilities for the growing Google Cloud division. Our organization works alongside Security Engineering, Network Engineering, Network Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Data Center Software and Engineering teams, and Facility Operations to secure and monitor the operational efficiency and security of data center power and cooling systems. This includes risk analysis, prioritization, development, and continuous improvement of both physical system infrastructure and operator facing software.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping these sites operating efficiently and safely. You will provide the technical expertise, strategic guidance and tactical site-specific support for innovation and continuous improvements to information security and network management (e.g., PMS, BMS, SCADA, and intranet network topology). You will be responsible for working with numerous cross functional teams and stakeholders to implement a goal for new intranet designs and innovative site security processes and technologies, as well as directly driving improvements across a basket of physical Data Center sites. Along with the rest of the Fleet Health team within Data Center Central Operations, you'll work cross functionally with the larger Technical Infrastructure organization, collaborating with core teams in Global Server Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement, Data Center Operations, Advanced Technology and Innovation, Data Center Engineering, and other teams.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage and patch Windows/Linux machines used in the data center operational technology environment.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify patch compatibility issues, qualify updates and integrate new equipment into the policy scope.
- Manage, maintain and deploy switches and networking infrastructure below PMS/BMS switches, including firmware updates, replacement/upgrade program life-cycles and support improvements to systems and tools with stakeholder teams.
- Support cybersecurity policy/process development and improvements for the environment.
- Manage and organize multiple network engineering projects simultaneously, identifying and resolving blocking issues, escalating program risks and coordinating with affected sites to deliver new functionality on time and within budget.
