  • Track record of leading teams to achieve outcomes in regulatory and legislative settings through stakeholder coalitions.
  • Knowledge of the United States Central region's energy landscape, including stakeholders, issues, and market trends (e.g., SPP, MISO, ERCOT).
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to solve complex challenges in ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated executive presence, relationship-building, communication, and project management skills.

As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams to negotiate agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreements recommendations to our Tech leadership. You will lead a team of Strategic Negotiators in the United States Central Region as Manager of Strategic Energy Regulatory and Policy Negotiations. Your focus will be on ensuring cost-effective power supplies, supporting data center and energy product growth, and achieving carbon-free energy goals.

You will drive regional energy strategy, oversee team initiatives, collaborate across the company to support Google's energy portfolio, and guide your team's advocacy efforts with energy regulators and industry stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team evaluating Central United States energy regulations, industry trends, and stakeholder interests to assess risks and opportunities for Google's data center electricity supply.
  • Oversee the development and execution of market solutions for Google's electricity needs, guiding regulatory and market engagement strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration with Google organizations (Global Infrastructure, Product, Public Policy, etc.) to develop and communicate policy and market positions.
  • Direct energy-related advocacy work with trade associations, industry partners, and other allies to advance Google's strategic energy interests.
  • Provide strategic guidance to negotiators, mentor team members, manage budget/resources, and report to leadership on team progress.
