Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience with Machine Learning or AI.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technology or business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 3 years of experience in a business function role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, business, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.

YouTube is growing fast, building a number of features to encourage more participation on the platform. To ensure the platform remains safe for key audiences including teens, the Trust and Safety team invests in new safety measures and partners with the rest of YouTube to ensure features are built responsibly. As the Product Manager, you will build state-of-the-art safety solutions to deliver safety especially for highly strategic projects across YouTube.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Build a classifier to identify harmful behavior and implement protection measures against those.
  • Own the roadmap for protecting teens from bad actors on the platform.
  • Define and implement new safety systems in partnership with policy, engineering, and operations to protect YouTube's new strategic bets.
  • Launch new ML/AI products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, policy, legal, UX, and other teams on cutting edge technologies.
