Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in accounting, or an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Certification in CPA/CA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with specialized areas of accounting including ASC 842 or IFRS 16 lease accounting standards and fixed asset/construction accounting.
  • Experience with spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Experience with SQL and SAP.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to support complex operational initiatives.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

This team helps to develop and support new processes and business relationships with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders in Capital Expenditures/Operating Expenses/Lease Accounting, Technical Infrastructure Lease Accounting, International Controllership, and others.

In this role, you will support the accounting operations and systems for the REWS (Real Estate and Workplace Services) lease accounting tower. The REWS lease team manages the global accounting for Google's office building leases. You will know your accounting principles and understand the full accounting process. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible. You will collaborate with our global team, advocate best practices and take initiatives to pitch in when needed. You will keep attention to detail, and use problem-solving skills to support Google's business objectives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $81,000-$119,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage operational accountants for global REWS lease population, including the month-end close and quarter-end 10Q/10K reporting support for lease disclosures.
  • Support the REWS lease accounting system (Tririga) and related workflows. Work with various teams (e.g., Advisory teams, Lease Admin, etc.) on any necessary changes/updates.
  • Review significant agreements and work with the REWS lease accounting advisory team for proper accounting treatment.
  • Work cross-functionally with business advisors, US GAAP accounting teams, entity leads, and International Controllership.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, system improvements, and drive implementation of the solutions.
