Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience in commodity management, agreement negotiation, supplier development, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with industrial equipment, automotive or modular projects.
Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in a Technical or Engineering field.
  • Experience with large-scale industrial engineering and construction programs in data center environments.
  • Experience in Capital Expenditure (Capex) intensive and working with construction contractors.

  • Experience managing service centers and buying directly from steel mills, with an understanding of steel processing such as roll forming and cutting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, translating to relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

    In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, procurement and supplier management functions for data center power and cooling equipment. You will partner closely with Data Center Engineering and Construction teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. You will define, measure, analyze, improve Google's data center operational processes and develop options that enable the team to scale.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute commodity strategies through close collaboration with Google engineering and commodity teams.
    • Conduct detailed agreement discussions, including comprehensive agreements, and ensure capacity planning and supply-chain strategies are implemented to meet On-Time Delivery.
    • Drive RFP/RFI/RFQs and lead cross-functional teams with supplier selection process, define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis.
    • Serve as internal point of contact for all ongoing remediation and quality improvement programs, define multi-year R&D efforts, and implement supply chain and supply base improvements.
    • Implement supply chain improvements, driving supply base improvement with supplier metrics and regular business reviews.
