Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, a related function.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently as it is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in English and Japanese with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • CFA/Certified Accountant certification.
  • Knowledge of the Cloud industry, particularly consumption products.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Javascript, Java, R, or Python.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at executive level, across business and technical functions.

    Google Cloud is a strategic priority for Google. We are developing cloud solutions for businesses, particularly Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace. The Cloud Sales team helps clients transform their business through the use of Cloud products, and is responsible for achieving top line and profitability goals.
    The Cloud Sales Finance team ensures that Cloud Sales makes sound financial decisions. We are an important partner and independent advisor to the Cloud commercial leaders, providing them financial, analytical and strategic insight.

    In this role, you will be the Finance Manager for our Cloud Japan business. You will partner with the Cloud Japan Vice President and his Leadership team.

    The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage with the Cloud Japan Vice President and his leadership teams (i.e., Director-level and above).
    • Define and track relevant metrics to support decision-making.
    • Forecast performance and provide insights into variance to plan.
    • Coordinate goal setting, particularly for Business.
    • Manage long-range and yearly business planning, to support resource allocation.
