Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
- Experience in speechwriting, executive communications strategy, and developing a consistent voice.
- Understanding of building strong relationships with executive leaders, and ability to work well across teams, functions and levels.
- Ability to grow in ambiguity and balance a number of engaging priorities.
- Ability to work calmly and maintain good acumen in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with effective attention to detail.

About the job
In this role, you will help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders, and our own employees about the benefits of YouTube's products, our distinctive company culture and values, and our approach to the big issues of the day. You'll work closely with YouTube executives to prepare speeches and blog posts around complex topics facing the company. You will also lead on social to ensure consistency of voice across channels and mediums. You will understand complex issues, break them down, and coach executives on the best ways to communicate ideas.
You'll need to be able to combine creativity with organizational skills to manage numerous and varied projects to tight deadlines simultaneously. Working with diverse stakeholders, you will be pitching to all kinds of journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Draft speeches, opposite the editorial page (op-eds), and blog posts for YouTube executives.
- Develop, write and edit communications and narratives appropriate for a C-level executive that also maintains a consistent voice across channels.
- Manage executive social media with acumen, creativity and flexibility.
- Develop creative strategies for communicating about complex, sensitive subjects that are easy to understand and resonate with the audience.
- Interact with and influence executives, and provide advice that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style.
