Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience with technical writing in a learning setting
- 3 years of experience with managing vendors, including managing budgets and working within enterprise financial systems
- 2 years of experience with editorial leadership in a technical learning setting, including driving strategy, stakeholder/partner management, quality assurance, process optimization, and executive-level written/verbal communications
- Experience with learning content management systems (L/CMS), content authoring/editing tools, and style guide software
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Experience running content quality control programs
- Experience with project management (e.g., developing project plans, tracking progress, meeting deadlines)
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and concepts

About the job
The Editorial Lead, reporting to the Director of Content and Portfolio, is a key leadership role within Cloud Learning Services (CLS). In partnership with the CLS Portfolio lead, you'll drive the shape of on-demand (delivered through Google Cloud Skills Boost, YouTube) and instructor-led content for CLS.
In this role, you work with vendors to ensure content quality standards are adhered to and collaborate with other teams to ensure content meets organizational goals. You focus on the needs of our learners using user feedback and content performance data to drive content, process, and tooling improvements. You'll lead enablement efforts to ensure that CLS has a single shared understanding of what quality means, and how we get there.
The Editorial Lead also stays updated on learning content trends to maintain content that is easy to find, delightful to take, and frictionless to create and maintain.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$234,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Define the vision and strategy for a content center of excellence to maintain quality standards and a single voice in distributed content development.
- Lead strategic initiatives, using activity data and user feedback to improve content performance against objectives (relevant, accurate, inclusive, delightful).
- Maintain style and voice/tone guidelines, and run enablement programs to continuously improve content development skills of Google Cloud Skills Boost content creators across Google Cloud.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, oversee vendor relationships, manage budgets and resources, and scale processes to extend content creation beyond CLS.
- Stay informed about current trends and innovations in learning and development.
