Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in a sales role in the enterprise software or cloud space.
  • Leadership experience within a quota-carrying team, such as people management, team lead, mentorship or coaching.
  • Experience selling Databases or data management technologies to clients.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with technical stacks and Google Cloud Databases offerings (e.g., Cloud SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and application development).
  • Experience planning and organizing go-to-market strategies, business programs, and business activity within the team and territory.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams to impact business goals, customer experience, and expansion.
  • Experience in people and business management, supporting the career development of a sales team and driving business growth.
  • Experience leveraging knowledge of relevant products, solutions, and market trends, with the ability to analyze business performance data or market changes, to drive the direction.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, presentation, and program management skills.

As a Databases Sales Specialist Manager, you will lead a team responsible for growing our Databases business by building and expanding relationships with new and existing customers. You will build relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Field Sales, Customer Engineering, Solution Architecture, Product) and customers, supporting the team to do the same. You will ensure your team has the necessary promoting skills to demonstrate product functionality and overviews of key business use cases, and close business. You will support a positive, high-performing team culture, while leading with empathy and identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team as a whole to drive overall value for Google Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$232,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive and high-performing team culture, supporting your team to drive pipeline, manage the team from lead generation to customer onboarding, and meet and exceed metrics.
  • Develop and own the go-to-market plan to scale and impact your business in key areas, including business generation, Net New Customer Growth, Customer Expansion and Retention, and Customer Referenceability in both the assigned territory and in the team.
  • Partner with Field Sales, Marketing, Customer Engineering, Customer Success, Channels, Product, and Engineering to understand customers' voice, impact messaging and collateral, and provide excellent prospect and customer experience.
  • Expand relationships to influence long-term direction and be a trusted advisor to your team and their accounts. Inspire executives at prospective customers to partner with Google.
  • Represent your business in forecasts and meetings; report business performance in Salesforce and other tools.
