Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • 8 years of experience in system design and one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience using ML/AI and building solutions.
  • Experience with edge computing, distributed systems or data center transformation.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently in order to interact with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

    The Strategic Pursuits organization works within the Google Cloud Go-To-Market organization to drive business growth through the systematic identification and execution of specific, non-standard growth opportunities (i.e. strategic pursuits) that open new markets, acquire new customers or grow existing customers. As a Customer Engineer in Google Distributed Cloud, you will work closely with the sales and pre-sales teams to offer and deliver complex distributed cloud solutions. You are the technical expert with strategic global customers, leading conversations on cutting edge cloud offers, and driving decisions to align with Google Cloud services and delivery team innovation and capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and execute on new cloud offers, creating the business case, getting alignment from respective teams, addressing budget needs, getting executive buy in, securing customers, driving customers to prove offers, and scaling offers to field once proven successful.
    • Be a technical advisor and point of contact for strategic customers and accounts with non-standard requests and innovation needs.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior cross-functional key stakeholders in customer and/or partner organizations to deliver or manage quality technical solutions and services.
    • Strategize surrounding solution code development in collaboration with internal or external developers/users/partners/clients/stakeholders (as needed).
    • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
