Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of industry experience working in camera component, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience with camera hardware components (e.g., sensors, lenses, ISPs).
- Experience with camera image quality tuning and evaluation tools.
- 3 years of experience with autofocus camera systems and advanced imaging technologies.
- Experience with camera module manufacturing and testing processes.
- Knowledge of computer vision and image processing algorithms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.

The Pixel Camera team provides software solutions to improve the AF performance on speed, accuracy, and stability based on the knowledge of camera hardware characteristics. The team's goal is to model the camera hardware's behavior and provide precise focus distance information to enhance autofocus performance, improve user experience, and enable other camera features. In this role, you will collaborate with internal camera software teams, hardware partners, and research teams as needed.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with camera software teams and hardware partners to improve autofocus performance on speed, accuracy, and stability.
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve camera autofocus system.- Develop a model of the hardware's characteristics to deliver a precise focus distance, enabling other camera features to function seamlessly.
- Design and implement autofocus features and improvements.
- Test and validate autofocus performance.
