Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, a related function, or a relevant advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working in an unstructured environment, navigating ambiguity, managing multiple assignments simultaneously and bringing clarity and structure.
  • Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data, building reporting dashboards in high data volume environments.
  • Ability to partner with technical, business, and operations stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

    As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

    GCS Business Finance is part of Google's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization, providing financial support to Google's business organization. Our work is integral to the strategic decision-making and operations of the commercial teams across all our advertising products.

    The GCS EMEA Finance team partners with sales and cross-functional leadership to provide problem solving insights and recommendations on key business decisions for Google Customer Solutions (GCS) EMEA, the organization that works with mid-market and small advertisers in EMEA to make them successful across Search, Digital Video Advertising (DVA) and YouTube. We are responsible for core operations such as forecasting and budgeting, and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on topics such as business performance, risks and opportunities, market acceleration plans, and resource allocation.

    As a Finance Analyst, you will ensure that our leadership makes sound financial decisions. Your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by leadership to make strategic company decisions.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

    Responsibilities

    • Support business critical operations such as goal setting, annual planning recommendations, performance tracking and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) budget management.
    • Identify data requirements, engage in in-depth analysis and build and maintain long-term financial models to understand business performance. Synthesize data and compile standard presentations, reports, or dashboards to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
    • Take the lead for release schedules and milestones along all stages of a deliverables life cycle, coordinating across multiple teams to deliver best data products/solutions and keep key stakeholders informed on project status.
    • Maintain highest levels of development practices including effectively leveraging SQL, technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code.
    • Act as a liaison, providing clear insights and identifying opportunities for scaling best practices across central, local and global teams.
