Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in business development, consulting, partnerships or sales, and marketing.
  • Experience working with publishers and on licensing agreements.
Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience in the publishing industry.
  • Ability to clarify and communicate complex issues for an executive audience, and interact with partners and Google's executive management.
  • Proven track record as a strategic thought-leader at a global technology company in business development, partnerships, product management, general management, or sales.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and people skills.
  • Interest in ebooks, audiobooks, or comics/manga.

In this role, you will develop and execute publishing partnerships in markets that enable Google Play Books to meet its mission of weaving books into users' lifestyles. You will work closely with product leaders and cross-functional teams to source, discuss, and execute complex agreements for Google, as well as develop go-to market strategy for new Google Play Books initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Discuss and manage product-enabling partnerships with industry leaders for Google's Play Books line of audiobooks and ebooks. This includes content licensing and new product opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Product and other cross-functional teams to drive Google Play Books product partnerships from concept to launch to ongoing partner management.
  • Play an active role in internal and external communication of goals and achievements, and influence product roadmap by providing market/industry insights.
  • Develop and execute partnerships strategies for enabling new product launches with current and new partners.
  • Manage coordination with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance) and develop partnerships strategies for new initiatives, including teams across Google Play.
