Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 14 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
- 10 years of experience designing engagement/advocacy, strategies, regulatory affairs, or asset portfolio planning/management.
- Experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial-scale projects.
- Experience with power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial-class electrical and cooling technology, or other related technical areas.
- Experience managing utility agreements and energy-related issues, as well as in financial modeling and implementing clean energy initiatives.
- Experience in indirect taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, agreement drafting, and presentation development.
- Ability to comfortably work in ambiguous, collaborative, and fast-paced environments.

As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. The Data Center team is a group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers. As a Data Center Strategic Negotiator, you'll work with specific project teams on site development, delivering off-site utility infrastructure, managing relationships with local officials, utilities, and AHJ's (Authority Having Jurisdiction), and presenting portfolio recommendations to Tech leadership.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Build out rosters of support, track regulatory and legislative changes that could impact market expansion.
- Explore new markets, and begin educating potential public/private sector partners on the benefits of data center development.
- Develop market entry plans for prospective geographies, work cross-functionally with Google product areas to identify value, challenges, and opportunity to collaborate.
- Manage public sector and industry relations.
- Work with internal clients (e.g., Cloud, AI/ML) on specific business cases for market expansion.
