Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • 10 years of experience working in the music or music-adjacent industry and building programs that support a variety of artists and their
    representatives in any of the following fields: digital music, artist
    management, label product management, artist relations, artist marketing.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.

  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • 8 years of experience in direct engagement and collaboration with artists and the creative music community.
    • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally across a large business, working directly with senior executive leaders.
    • Experience working high-stress situations with creative or tech individuals and remaining focused on delivering results.
    • Ability to create and deliver thorough and cohesive presentations to persuade senior executive audiences.
    • Service mindset; willingness and ability to act quickly and effectively to cultivate partner satisfaction with our engagement and to make our relationship impactful and successful for both YouTube and partners.

    As YouTube's Artist Engagement Lead, you will collaborate and partner with artists and their representative teams and cross-functionally across YouTube/Google to deliver critical projects requiring artist engagement (e.g., new feature and technology testing).

    You will have close, long-established relationships in the music industry, specifically with the creative community and artists, as well as skills that enable you to exceed in cross-functional work flows, and you will thoroughly understand YouTube/Google's priorities, and strategically engage artists to collaborate and participate in mutually-beneficial partnerships.

    You will also court, build and maintain YouTube's relationships with a wide variety of artists and strategic music partners. This may include fostering their engagement on the platform and use of our tools and resources, as well as providing guidance on growing their audience, in addition to orchestrating partnerships around current and developing company initiatives.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $162,000-$243,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

    Responsibilities

    • Own complex, visible, and sensitive cross-functional projects for new products/product features requiring artist engagement (e.g., Gen AI features).
    • Orchestrate strategy internally across Partnerships, Product, GTM, Legal, Comms, etc. and externally via strategic artist outreach, engagement, contracting, and execution of mutually-beneficial partnerships.
    • Own and grow day-to-day artist relationships, working with a targeted set of high-touch artists and their representatives.
    • Navigate internal cross-functional workstreams centered on artist engagements and partnerships.
