Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 10 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 8 years with with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience building, developing, or leading a team.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP, with the ability to navigate and leverage systems effectively.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices, with experience creating clear and concise accounting process documentation.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload with accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and solve problems proactively.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, support collaboration and growth, and provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership to drive informed decision-making.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting, and ensure adherence to SOX controls.
  • Collaborate with Controllership and Finance teams to streamline and enhance financial close and reporting processes, support international expansion efforts, and ensure compliance with global accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to drive efficiency and accuracy within Controllership operations.
  • Communicate accounting information to diverse audiences through impactful presentations and reports, and identify, escalate, and collaborate with leadership to address key issues and drive solutions.
