Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certification in CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience with US GAAP (Unites Stated Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently, as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation.
  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle or SQL.
  • Experience with benefit and compensation accounting.
  • Experience in technical accounting, with proven investigative and project management skills to drive process improvements.
  • Ability to propose next steps and solutions to roadblocks, anticipate questions and tests early, manage time effectively, and follow work plans.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on improvement.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. As a member of this team, you will work with accounting principles and the full accounting process from start to finish. You will advise on financial reports required by government regulations, and you will review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports to help the team operate in the most efficient way possible.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly close activities including journal and balance sheet reconciliation review.
  • Prepare and present analysis of month-end results to management.
    Identify opportunities to centralize, eliminate, automate or external activities.
  • Manage, establish, and implement global processes for the accounting of new initiatives, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and operational excellence.
  • Prepare, and assist with internal, SOX and external audits. Document processes, ensure performance of key controls, and obtain/provide support as necessary.
  • Review processes and implement controls to ensure we are mitigating risk for Google. Establish scalable processes to support different compensation and benefit plans.
