About the Role

The Senior IT Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for the advanced design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing complex systems, networks, and storage solutions to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will lead critical projects, mentor junior team members, and serve as a technical expert within the IT department.

The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential to collaborate effectively with other IT professionals and departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of IT systems to support business operations and growth.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead and participate in complex IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Configure and maintain advanced network equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Manage data backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, and service provision.
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT issues, serving as an escalation point for other IT staff.
  • Mentor and train junior IT team members, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to design and implement IT solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements to enhance the IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IT standards and regulations such as NIST, HIPAA, HiTrust, SOC2, and SOX.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts and service agreements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, with hands-on experience in system and network management.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, virtualization technologies, and network configurations.
  • Proven experience managing SaaS solutions such as Gmail, GSuite, Slack, and ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing advanced network equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise technical support and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of IT security standards and best practices, including network security and data protection.
  • Experience with remote support tools and software deployment solutions (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Airwatch).
  • IT certifications in related fields (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Engineering teams are responsible for supporting appropriate security controls, including management, operational, and technical controls in addition to general GoodRx best practices, such as reading and adhering to the security policies and procedures, being vigilant and observant of potential security threats, etc.

At GoodRx, pay ranges are determined based on work locations and may vary based on where the successful candidate is hired. The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors. These pay zones may be modified in the future. Please contact your recruiter for additional information.

San Francisco and Seattle Offices:
$108,000.00 - $173,000.00

New York Office:
$99,000.00 - $158,000.00

Santa Monica Office:
$90,000.00 - $144,000.00

Other Office Locations:
$81,000.00 - $130,000.00
