Global Investment Research (GIR) provides investment recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets and economies. GIR analysts help our clients achieve superior returns through our creative, differentiated investment insights and ideas. Our clients include mutual funds, hedge funds and pension funds, among others.
We are seeking MD or PhD candidates or graduates with non-finance backgrounds to participate in a 6-month paid fellowship. The Fellowship will enable MDs and PhDs to explore a potential career transition into Equity Research. The Fellows are provided with training and hands-on experience on a research team as well as networking and mentorship opportunities.

- Is open to Medical Doctors or PhDs in technology, science, pharmacology, medical, or healthcare-related disciplines
- Does not require finance experience however, a demonstrated interest in investing and a knowledge of the markets is required

RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with a Senior Analyst and other members of the division, the responsibilities of the fellow are to:
- Develop strong industry and company knowledge
- Build and maintain financial models
- Interpret data and perform analysis on market, economic and industry trends
- Work on company specific projects
- Write reports on companies under coverage
- Update and maintain monthly reports, marketing books and valuation sheets
- Respond to ad hoc requests from clients, sales, and traders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in sell-side equity research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Exceptional analytical skills, lateral thinking, and judgment
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and a high level of enthusiasm
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
