The Americas Financing Group within Global Banking & Markets is looking for an Vice President to join the Structured Finance - Project, Infrastructure and Principal Finance team in New York. The Structured Finance Group is a diverse and global business that brings together broad capabilities across financing, underwriting, capital raising, risk management and advisory to provide holistic solutions to our clients. The group works closely with classic investment banking and other product groups to originate and execute structured finance transactions.

The Project, Infrastructure and Principal Finance team is a market-leading franchise focused on creative and novel transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including greenfield, brownfield, and acquisition financings. The team is responsible for structuring, underwriting, and distributing diverse financial products including bonds, loans, repos, warehouse facilities and interest rate, currency, and commodity derivatives to support projects in transportation, power generation, telecommunications, social infrastructure, climate transition and more. Through a cross-divisional effort with the Global Markets Division, the team offers both best-efforts and principal executions for clients in developed and emerging markets. Through a OneGS approach, the team collaborates with our colleagues in the regional offices in the broader Latin American and EMEA regions to find the most effective financing solution for our clients.

The team has adopted an innovative approach to ESG-linked financings in the sovereign, corporate and infrastructure space and beyond, with a developing focus on Social, Green, Gender and Sustainable financings and carbon credit monetizations. To support these efforts, the team works closely with export credit agencies and development finance institutions globally, such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structuring and execution of structured financings in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as for ESG-themed projects and initiatives.
  • Lead client coverage, origination, and transaction idea generation
  • Coordinate transaction due diligence workstreams, including interactions with independent consultants, external counsel, and other third parties
  • Manage the preparation of client pitches, rating agency presentations, and marketing materials and supervise the preparation of financial models for various asset classes to evaluate capital structure alternatives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors and banks to assist in syndication efforts
  • Work with the syndicate and trading desks on transaction pricing and distribution, including leading investor dialogue and questions
  • Manage the drafting of internal transaction approval memos, and coordinate with credit risk and other control functions throughout the approval and execution processes
  • Train and mentor analysts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or Master's Degree in Business preferred
  • At least 6+ years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, project finance, and/or principal investing, preferably in the energy and/or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong quantitative and technical abilities, including advanced financial modelling capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, negotiation, client-relationship building, analytical and credit skills.
  • Ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and concise way
  • Experience in recruiting and managing diverse teams with a commitment to talent development and ability to manage and work across a multi-country and multi-product matrix structure

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
