Responsibilities
About the role:
The ABS Reporting Systems Manager is a critical technical role within the GMF North America Securitization and Conduit Reporting team. This position will manage a team of analysts responsible for data analysis for the Trust Reporting group. This position will manage and oversee design process improvements and the creation of SQL reports. The manager will write functional specifications develop and test system plans, document processes and programs, advise users on program use, and resolve production problems. This position involves a high level of coordination with other departments and third- party software vendors.
What you will be doing:
- Analyze Data to troubleshoot process problems and drive process improvement
- Develop ad-hoc analysis and reports as directed by management
- Define functional requirements including requests for new reports or system enhancements
- Translate complex requirements into business requirements/functional specifications documents in coordination with the data warehouse teams
- Understand data warehouse design and data modeling
- Oversee the development of SQL, Access, Cognos, or Informatica Processes to manipulate, analyze and report on large data sets for the Trust Reporting group
- Data extraction, creation, manipulation of multiple files and or databases
- Find and correct operational errors, determine how to design system enhancements and test programs and systems
- Make recommendations to senior management based on findings
- Assist the VP Securitization and Conduit Reporting with executing strategic objectives
- Keep up to date on current technology through training and outside materials
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports
- Manage relationships with external vendors
Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Strong understanding of data warehousing methodology, data modeling, ETL, databases, and Business Intelligence and their processes
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Cognos and informatica
- Proven history of understanding and utilizing Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Applications such as Informatica
- Unix, AS400 and XML knowledge is a plus
- Advance working knowledge on Data mining/analysis, Data governance and data architecture and reporting
- Knowledge on enterprise IT infrastructure
- Ability to interpret and or write system documentation and technical specifications
- Strong ability to write advanced SQL coding to help analyze data
- Proven history of successful problem solving with strong sense of ownership and urgency
- Ability to lead/manage a project team from project definition through deployment
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
- Interpersonal skills necessary to manage business and technology relationships with internal and external clients

Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, related field or equivalent work experience required
- 2-4 years data analysis/reporting and/or business system analysis, design, implementation , testing and support required
- 7-10 years Oracle or Teradata SQL required
- 5-7 years Informatica or ETL tool required
- 0-2 years Managerial experience required
- 2 certifications in SQL or related databases preferred
- Cognos or any BI reporting tool preferred
- 0-2 years UNIX shell scripting preferred
