GM Financial is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer II - Data Quality to join the Data Governance Engineering team. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data within the organization to improve the value and quality of data assets in our organization. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced expertise in Informatica tools including Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) and Informatica Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) in the design, implementation and management of enterprise-level technical solutions in data quality and governance. This position involves a blend of technical skills and analytical capabilities to manage data quality processes effectively with an emphasis on enhancing decision-making capabilities across business functions.
Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Design, develop, and deploy Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) solutions, including data profiling, cleansing, standardization, matching and validation.
- Support the data quality product cycle in a cross-functional agile release environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product owners, business and IT to gather requirements around data quality rules and optimize as needed.
- Collaborate in data quality assessments and audits, identifying discrepancies and implementing solutions.
- Support data integration processes from multiple data sources with other Informatica tools to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.
- Establish and optimize Data Quality Scorecards, Dashboards and ad-hoc reporting.
- Perform administrative access and role management for the Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) repository.
- Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and propose corrective measures.
- Implement automated systems for monitoring, reporting, and alerting on data quality metrics.
- Serve as the primary escalation contact for high-level issues concerning Informatica tools like CDQ, CDGC.
- Optimize, tune, and troubleshoot Informatica environments to enhance performance.
- Assist in the creation of standards, templates and procedures.
- Responsible: on supporting the user on all the available information.
- Stay abreast of application upgrades and coordinate troubleshooting for Informatica Cloud.
- Stay current with relevant emergent technologies, advancements in Informatica tools and data management practices.
- Comply with all security policies and procedures to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and accountability is maintained.
Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with data engineering required.
- 5+ years of experience in a data quality or governance role with a focus on Informatica tools preferred.
- 5+ years of advanced experience querying complex data structures and performing root-cause analysis preferred.
- Advanced ETL knowledge preferred. 2-4 years of hands-on experience with data engineering required
- Expertise in data quality dimensions, business rules, data quality checks, dashboards and scorecards.
- Expertise in data profiling, validation, standardization, and cleansing.
- Experience designing and implementing Cloud Data Quality rules, mapplets, and validation checks.
- Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Quality and related tools.
- Experience with cloud data technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, AWS.
- Experience with Unix/Linux commands for scripting tasks related to data processing.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, medallion architecture, data lake, delta lake, cloud and on-prem data.
