Responsibilities
About the Role:
The AVP Cybersecurity Architecture leads a team of skilled Cyber Architects, overseeing the design and implementation of security controls for new systems and technologies. This team is responsible for ensuring all security requirements are met, aligning with regulatory standards and organizational goals. The AVP collaborates with stakeholders across the business and with Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams throughout Cyber, IT, and Digital to define security strategies, guide architecture decisions, and assess risks. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, cloud and hybrid environments, and a deep understanding of emerging technologies to drive secure innovation and resilient infrastructure through strong leadership and effective team management.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Cybersecurity Architects and be responsible for talent management
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity and Information Technology leaders to align cybersecurity efforts with compliance requirements and industry standards
- Oversee the project architecture and solutions architecture functions of Cybersecurity to drive results towards organizational objectives
- Mentor and Develop staff within the Cybersecurity Architecture organization
- Collaborate with Digital and Information Technology teams to identify security requirements for Agile-based deployments and appropriately drive the escalation and completion of those requirements
- Collaborate with Cloud technology teams to ensure that Cybersecurity protections as well as monitoring and alerting capabilities are deployed throughout all cloud environments
- Establish appropriate cybersecurity technical controls coverage for projects and company-wide initiatives, which entails communication of project information to leadership level stakeholders and delegation of representation to senior members based upon areas of expertise
- Act as a technical resource to department management and others within the company who are seeking more information about security
- Perform other duties as assigned and conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity frameworks (i.e., ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC, etc.) and Cybersecurity and industry relevant regulations that will guide architectural requirements (i.e., NYDFS, GDPR, FFIEC, GLBA, etc.)
- Knowledge of traditional Cybersecurity and technology architectures, including identity and access management, firewalls, network segmentation, server and appliance virtualization, web traffic management and security, comprehensive data protection, and logging and monitoring
- Knowledge of current Cybersecurity and technology architectures such as zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, containerization, DevOps, Agile, and software-defined networking across a variety of environments and deployments
- Demonstrated knowledge regarding best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 6 years of experience leading in large and complex related business environments with a successful track record working directly with senior level management required
- 5-7 years of experience in one or more of the following domains: Cybersecurity, Information Security, Security Architecture and Design, Security Governance and Risk Management, Security Engineering and Operations, IT or Security Audit, and Security, Legal, and Regulatory Compliance required
- Information Security Certifications preferred
