About the role

As a People Operations Specialist, you will be an integral part of the People team and will manage various aspects of HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and play a key role in delivering a world-class employee experience. You’ll be responsible for making sure our processes and systems support our growing needs, ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data and HR systems and serve as a key point of contact for employee operational questions and/or concerns.

You must be commutable to our NYC office. This role will operate in a hybrid environment with 2 days per week in the office (Tuesdays & Thursdays).

What you'll do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions received through People team channels regarding benefits, payroll, policies, and other People Ops-related topics
  • Ensure timely administrative execution of new hire onboarding and terminations including paperwork collection and storage, I-9 completion, and HR systems updates 
  • Own all aspects of maintaining employee data throughout the full employee life cycle (including employee changes, organizational updates and audits) and build out systems and processes to ensure data integrity
  • Manage all administrative processes related to contractor hiring and employment 
  • Collaborate on research and development for people programs and policies to ensure compliance and incorporate employee feedback
  • Review payroll and manage off-cycle and supplemental payments
  • Support benefits and perks administration, employment verifications, workers’ compensation and leave of absence paperwork, and immigration matters 
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders regarding employee initiatives and processes
  • Support and promote our company values, principles and ongoing DEIB initiatives

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years previous experience in people operations working with HRIS/HR tools (experience with remote/hybrid organizations and tech start-ups is a plus)
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Rippling is a plus
  • SHRM or PHR certification is a plus
  • Foundational knowledge of HR-related employment laws

The starting base salary for this role in NYC is between $80,000-$95,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
