Job Description
How will you make an impact?

We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design, development and transfer of the company's new medical devices. Exercising independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluating criteria for obtaining results. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible in the areas of requirements creation, specification determination, detailed design documentation, protocol and report writing, and test execution. Specific duties include detailed mechanical and electro-mechanical design models and drawings, design analysis - thermal, structural, fluidic, and kinematic, and application of GD&T. Parts procurement, prototype building and testing of systems may be involved. Also provides technical knowledge in the mechanical engineering and design areas.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for all levels of design and implementation, from concept through detailed parts design to sourcing of components and prototype assembly.
  • Work closely with electrical and optical designers to achieve robust designs and obtain optimum system performance.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of studies in the form of technical reports, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Assist in maintaining CAD database design history via SolidWorks PDM.
  • Create drawings which comply with engineering and Quality standards and requirements.
  • Supports sustaining engineering activities of current products lines.
  • Able to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead and support ECO creation, redlining, and change order implementation.
  • Support product verification and validation activities.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
How will you get there?
  • Six (6) years minimum experience in mechanical design of medical device capital equipment components and/or sub-systems utilizing SolidWorks
  • In-depth knowledge and expert level use of SolidWorks & PDM.
  • Proven component design for manufacturing experience for multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Application of Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Knowledgeable and practiced with documentation and quality controls procedures (IEC 60601, ISO13485, ANSI Y14.5 Drafting Standards).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Industrial design experience is a plus.
  • Standard Microsoft Office computer skills including use of Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Oracle PLM is a plus.
  • Helix ALM is a plus
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, Cable Routing module with cable drawing creation is a plus
  • SolidWorks Certified is a plus
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • MS Engineering or MBA preferred.
