Job Description Summary

Indirect Sourcing Leader for Blades manufacturing locations and Services in North America, supporting the development and execution of Indirect Sourcing strategy. As part of the North America Indirect Sourcing team, be the Go-To person for local business and act as the liaison between all Sourcing functions and local key stakeholders. Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy sourcing strategy for key Indirect Material Sourcing Metrics such as deflation, usage reduction and days to pay improvement.
    Lead strategic sourcing commercial negotiations with suppliers, incl. price, volumes/capacity, T&Cs, delivery, Incoterms, payment, warranty and vendor recovery for Indirect Materials and Services.
  • Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier agreements.
    Serve as Indirect Sourcing business partner to local key stakeholders (Involve plant managers, services managers & functions to review regularly the cost reduction action plan and ensure deployment on time of cost reduction activities)
  • Be the Sourcing representative and first point of escalation for supplier related issues
  • Drive Sourcing process compliance as gatekeeper for PO placement and supplier selection.
  • Assures full alignment and implementation of Global/Regional agreements/contracts made by applicable Commodity Leaders
    Support, maintain, and update key sourcing tools, processes and systems, preferred supplier list, etc
  • Ensure strict adoption and implementation of all ethics and compliance regulations and train/inform relevant stakeholders
  • Establish supply sources for key stakeholder needs, implementing GE Preferred vendor programs in alignment with Global Sourcing
  • Communicate periodic updates of Sourcing Strategy & Performance to Plant/Regional stakeholders
  • Build the monthly reporting in coordination with Global Sourcing
    Support and provide updates on Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Own sourcing specific ERPs, processes and tools. Review and improve processes. Work on special initiatives.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of Indirect Sourcing. Use prior experience and acquired expertise to execute Sourcing strategy.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members. Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or other advanced degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Economics, Engineering or equal
  • Minimum of 3 years sourcing experience

  • Experience in Indirect Material Sourcing and Capex (Special tooling for Wind turbine installations and shipping fixtures of main Wind Turbine components)
  • Lean experience

The salary range for this position is $94,500.00 - $157,500.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 15%.
