You will work closely with the Valve Power Electronics Product Manager and the FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) Product Delivery Group to manage the entire lifecycle of valve power electronics products. You will focus on implementing processes and tools to monitor the installed base, identify trends, and drive continuous quality improvements. You will be responsible for supporting site outages for the FACTS Valve, ensuring material availability, and developing maintenance programs to support repairs. The role will also involve anticipating material requirements, managing version control of installed products, conducting risk assessments, and defining strategies for product upgrades based on real-time site data.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Valve Power Electronics Product Manager, NPI, CTO and FACTS Product Delivery Group to ensure smooth product lifecycle management, from installation to maintenance and upgrades.
  • Develop and implement processes to monitor the installed base of valve power electronics, ensuring product performance and identifying emerging trends.
  • Analyse installed base data to drive actionable insights that inform quality improvement initiatives, repair needs, and upgrade strategies.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain teams to develop and implement strategies to ensure material availability for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure spares management strategy is in place to support site outages, coordinating the resolution of power electronics issues while minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and technical teams to manage material and spare part forecasting for repair and maintenance programs.
  • Work as the interface to manufacturing and acting as the liaison/arbitrator between manufacturing and engineering, working to improve collaboration.
  • Monitor installed base version control and participate into patch management actions where needed (taking into account also the new NIS2 regulation needs as of 2026 onwards)
  • Conduct risk assessments when new issues or potential failures are identified, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure product reliability.
  • Support in defining and executing strategies for upgrading valve power electronics products, ensuring smooth transitions, and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction through effective lifecycle management including obsolescence management.
  • Coordinate and follow up of actions required with projects impacted
  • Participate into collecting failure rate data (FACTS PDG critical components) and entering failure rate data into agreed systems and tools.
  • Support FACTS After Sales teams in preparation and execution of planned outages/trouble shooting events
  • Participate into Root Cause Analysis tasks as part of the continuous improvement processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product lifecycle management, ideally within power electronics or HVDC / FACTS systems.
  • Strong understanding of valve power electronics, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Experience with data analysis and trend identification in installed base monitoring.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different functions.
  • Ability to anticipate and manage material requirements for repairs and maintenance based on site data.
  • In-depth knowledge of version control systems and quality assurance processes related to power electronics.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced qualifications in electrical engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience in the HVDC or power transmission sector.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data analytics tools and software.
  • Previous experience in managing customer relationships and addressing technical service requirements.
